Most of us at some time have picked up a book from the self-help section of the library or bookstore looking for that one element that successful people use to achieve their success. We all carry a level of curiosity about how they created fantastic careers (or businesses), accumulated financial security, fostered tremendous relationships and how they got their overall abundance of joy in their lives?

The secret to their success is simply really. The significance of their story is that these successful people have dreams and goals. They have a focused drive to accomplish the things they've set in front of themselves because they took the time to create a plan of action and write down the things in life they wanted to accomplish. They are also BIG thinkers who don't hold back from dreaming BIG dreams and goals for their lives. They make big promises to themselves and set into action the steps to fulfil these promises.

Success is defined as the "progressive realisation of worthy ideals (who I desire to become) and big goals (how I choose to achieve this)." Are you living a successful life? Do you have a list of dreams and goals that you're progressing towards? Some of us have them but we unfortunately keep them in our heads and never put them into writing. We never hold ourselves accountable and hence we lack the focus, drive and the persistence needed to achieve them.

Some of us become motivated and write our goals down but we fail to review them or encounter obstacles and our sight is taken off the goal. In fact when we encounter difficulty we make the obstacle the goal and stop; and so never achieve the real goal. So we continue living lives filled with mediocrity and fail to accomplish all that we can be and do.

Imagine for a moment a world without plans. No architectural plans, mechanical plans, city planning, business plans, etc. Are you envisioning a choas? A place where nothing gets accomplished and nothing is trustworthy due to the lack of detail and direction? Planning brings organisation, alignment and security. When we plan and then work to the plan we discover higher levels of success. So why not bring this same success to our personal lives?

Everyone of us has limited resources, whether it's time, money, energy or determination. Plans help us know where to apply resources for greater success, rather than waste these resources on pointless, irrelevant activity. The process of planning is about deciding priorities, then using resources most effectively, and then step-by-step beginning to see the achievement of our dreams.

Our lives are too important to leave to memory or chance. A Life Plan which includes a list of all your biggest dreams, goals and aspirations (in every area of your life) to achieve the life of success you desire and personal significance to accomplish everything you want to do during your life is the first step.

FAA, and its community of life coaches, help people to explore Success and Significance and help you create a life plan so that your dreams come into focus and you begin to experience a balanced life. With a Life Plan FAA can help you establish a list of all the things you've dreamed of achieving or experiencing, determine the priorities required to make them a reality and establish habits and actions to help you get there. Once created you will have the focus you need to reach for success, grab it, and to Realise Your Dreams and Personal Significance!
